"Progress, man's distinctive mark alone"
Our Mission
One of the core values of Sigma Pi is the importance of giving back to the community and the world. A good man is always willing to give his time to help others in need.
Members of Sigma Pi actively participate in service events throughout our community. Each man participates in at least 10 service hours per semester. Community service events in the last year include cleaning homes for the elderly, multiple highway cleanups, Linking Hearts, an event for foster children, volunteering at the Salvation Army, along with many others for a total of over 800 combined service hours
Philanthropy is raising funds towards needy causes and other organizations. Sigma Pi has two National Philanthropic causes, namely, Donate Life, and Amazing Day. Donate Life is focused on raising awareness of organ donation and works towards signing more people up. Amazing Day Foundation is focused on suicide awareness and prevention for college students. We are always looking for great causes to work with and help raise money for. Being a Sigma Pi means working towards making a difference.
The Altruistic Campus Experience (ACE) is a weeklong project that is dedicated to giving back to faculty and students of Missouri S&T as well as the Rolla Community. Some of the core events of the ACE Project include a janitor luncheon and free hot chocolate on a cold day. However, there are many smaller acts of random kindness throughout the week. such as; filling up parking meters, clearing snow on a busy path, and paying for laundry in the dorms for a day. This year we started a new event where we will host a luncheon at our house for all of the first responders in Rolla
